Khodam Djinn In the name of God, who has bestowed His grace and mercy upon all things. A veil, litany, or supplication (The Protected Secret and the Hidden Jewel), also called (The Decisive Sword), and known as the Sword Litany of our master, the Imam, the Pole, the Helper, Sayyid Ahmad the Great. Perhaps no other supplication or stone has been mentioned with such virtues and benefits as this one, to the point that it is called the Decisive Sword because its action is as decisive as a sharp sword. Here is some of what has been mentioned about it, and a narration that has been repeatedly confirmed regarding its virtue and action.

The Gnostic of God, Sheikh Hassan al-Birqi al-Saruji, may God sanctify his secret, says concerning this great and blessed litany: "Adhere to this protected secret, for it is truly the sword for important matters, decisive. It was narrated by al-Rifa'i the Great with his secret from the Chosen One, and the secret is known and heard by those who have grasped the knowledge of the Book. It contains truths for all kinds of noble deeds, comprehensive. The stars of its meanings are in the constellations of its structure for the people of intellect and the knowers.

People have experienced its answer when they recite it when hopes are hoped for, and they have attained blessings from God through it, and they have been pleased with it, and all I consulted it in the series of Sayyid As'ad al-Madani al-Abdali al-Husseini, the Mufti of Medina in the eleventh century, who died in the year 1116 AH. I also consulted it in "Al-Fajr al-Tali' fi Dhikr al-Sayf al-Qati'" (The Rising Dawn in Mentioning the Decisive Sword), authored by the learned scholar Sheikh Muhammad Abu al-Yaman, the Hanafi Mufti of Aleppo. I deemed it wise to summarize it from both books, omitting what was unnecessary, such as genealogical chains, authorizations, and lengthy explanations. I summarized it, retaining only what was essential, for it is the goal of the devout and a divine fortress for those who seek refuge in it.

All of it is from the Quran and needs no further explanation. I gave it this beautiful, optimistic, and unifying title: "Sabil al-Najat al-Amin al-Mumahhid" (The Secure and Well-Planned Path to Salvation) (for attaining the protected divine Muhammadan secret attributed to our master Ahmad). Now then, the humble servant of God's generosity, Abu al-Yaman Muhammad, the Hanafi Mufti of Aleppo, says: I have been afflicted, praise be to God, with a man who has troubled my life, diminished my standing, and frightened me. I have no power to defend myself against him, so I complained about the matter. To some of the people of gnosis, he directed me to the wise sheikh, the righteous pole, Sayyid Talib Abu Bakr, son of our sheikh, Sayyid Hussein Burhan al-Din ibn Khuzam al-Sayyadi al-Rifa'i, resident of the Kurdish quarter in Aleppo.

So I went to him, kissed his hands, and told him the story. He thought for a long time, then went to a chest of drawers he had, and took out a small part of it containing the litany that will be mentioned later. He said: "This is the litany of 'The Decisive Sword,' which others call 'The Protected Secret and the Hidden Pearl.' It is one of the most famous litanies of our master, our lord, our sheikh, and our ancestor, the pole of existence and the master of the sects, the father of the two sciences, the greatest helper, Sayyid Ahmad Muhyi al-Din al-Husseini al-Hasani al-Rifa'i al-Ansari, may the pleasure of the Creator be upon him and his forefathers and successors.

Persist in reciting it with sincerity, and God will deliver you from the evil of your enemy in the best way." So I took it and persevered in reciting it, and it was only a few days, a short period indeed, when the divine power was restored. God humiliated my adversary and aided me against him, raised my status, and strengthened my position. And I witnessed the power of this blessed litany from The blessing and light are beyond description, and it filled me with love. I wanted to compile a booklet mentioning his chains of transmission and what the great Ahmadi masters and others said about him, to proclaim his status and declare his proof. So God granted me success, and I compiled it.

This booklet, which I have named "The Rising Dawn in Mention of the Decisive Sword," I ask God Almighty to make it beneficial to the entire nation of our master Muhammad. He is the Beneficent Helper, Amen. He, may God be pleased with him and with us through him, said, as related by Sheikh Abu al-Fath al-Tawsi al-Suhrawardi in his book "Al-Ahzab": I received this litany, meaning the litany we are discussing, word for word from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and I named it "The Decisive Sword." I recited it to al-Khidr, peace be upon him, in Arafat, and he said: It is the protected secret and the hidden pearl.

He also said, may God be pleased with him, as related by the perfect and accomplished Sheikh Abdul Aziz ibn Ahmad al-Dirini al-Shafi'i, the Imam whose greatness is unanimously acknowledged, in his book "The Virtues of Deeds": I received it in the realm of meaning from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. Sheikh Imam Al-Qudwa Al-Muhaqqiq Abu Bakr Al-Ansari Al-Wasiti said in the book “Uqud Al-Al” in the biography of the saint of God Almighty, Sayyid Ali Al-Halqi Al-Rifa’i, may God be pleased with him: His use of the noble Ahmadi litany called (The Decisive Sword), which some call (The Protected Secret), was such that whenever he recited it for a need, the effect on his intention would appear.

Then he said: Ali Al-Halqi died in the year eight hundred and seventy-four, and the litany that he used had a special status among the Ahmadis.

And the saint of God, Sheikh Ali Abu al-Hasan ibn Ahmad al-Wasiti al-Shafi’i, may God be pleased with him, said in the book (The Essence of the Elixir): The righteous, pious, blessed, and learned Ahmad al-Ghazali informed us (and he also narrated it from his father, Muhammad al-Ghazali, known as al-Ghazlani al-Mawsili, as will be explained later), on the authority of the learned Sheikh, the knower of God, Abd al-Malik ibn Hammad al-Mawsili, one of the most distinguished successors of our master, Sayyid Ahmad al-Rifa’i, may God be pleased with him, that his sheikh, our master, the one referred to and relied upon, authorized his companions to read his glorious litany known among the Rifa’i masters as (The Decisive Sword), and informed them that he was authorized to read it in the world of meaning from his grandfather, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.

And the word of this group is agreed that whoever persists in reading it will not be let down, nor defeated, nor humiliated, nor disgraced, nor shamed, by the power and might of God, and the opening, goodness, blessing, acceptance, and righteousness of the state will continue for him, and he will be under the eye of God and the shadow of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the blessing of the pure Rifa’i spirit will be observed. End quote. And this is the text of our great gnostic sheikh, the crown of scholars, the sultan of hadith scholars, Izz al-Din al-Faruthi, may God have mercy on him and be pleased with him, in his book “Irshad al-Muslimin” (Guidance for Muslims).

And something similar was said by our sheikh of sheikhs, the blessed grandson, the great imam, the exemplar, the sheikh of the Levant, and the representative therein of the Rifa’i order, our master and lord, Sayyid Izz al-Din al-Sayyad ibn al-Rifa’i, may God be pleased with him, in his book “Waza’if al-Ahmadiyya” (The Functions of the Ahmadiyya). And something similar was also said by Sheikh al-Islam Diya’ al-Din Ahmad al-Watri al-Mawsili al-Baghdadi in his book “Manaqib al-Salihin” (Virtues of the Righteous). Imam al-Ansari said in his book “Uqud al-Al” (The Contracts of the Family) when translating the biography of Imam Sheikh Muhammad al-Ghazali al-Mawsili, known among the people of Mosul as al-Ghazlani, may God be pleased with him: His miracles reached the level of widespread transmission among the people of Mosul.

He died, may God be pleased with him, in the year 605 AH at an old age, and he narrated the litany known as “al-Sayf al-Qati’” (The Decisive Sword) from his sheikh, Imam al-Rifa’i, may God be pleased with him. End of summary. A note from the summary and compiler: Mr. Asaad Al-Madani, the Mufti of Medina, Al-Abdali Al-Husseini, the author of (Al-Musalsal), says in his chain of transmission: It often comes to mind when mentioning the chain of transmission of this noble litany that its narrator from Imam Al-Rifa’i is Imam Hujjat Al-Islam Al-Ghazali Al-Tusi, but this is not the case.

Rather, the narrator of this litany from Imam Al-Rifa’i is many of his companions, and among the most famous of those who are known from him is the saintly knower of God, Muhammad Al-Ghazali, known as Al-Ghazlani Al-Mawsili, and his son, the knower Sheikh Ahmad Al-Ghazlani. This blessed litany was narrated through his father and through his sheikh, the saintly Sheikh, the venerable Abdul-Malik bin Hammad Al-Mawsili, one of the most distinguished successors of Imam Al-Rifa’i, and both of them narrated the litany from their sheikh, the succor of existence, the great pole of succor, the pillar of the path, the sheikh of truth, the reviver of religion, Ahmad the Great Al-Rifa’i, may God be pleased with him and with all of them.

Our Sheikh, Sheikh Hussein Al-Zayyat Al-Hanafi Al-Azhari, may God have mercy on him, said in his commentary on “The Text of Protection”: The secrets of the special properties of God Almighty’s words and His Most Beautiful Names are not denied, and what is sufficient for you is the litany of (The Protected Secret) which the Ahmadi masters have passed down, for it is tried and tested to solve every knot and repel every task, and it has been proven on the authority of its author, the Imam of men, the Sheikh of the sects, the great Sayyid Al-Rifa’i, may God be pleased with him, that he said: I received it letter by letter from my grandfather, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he gave me glad tidings that whoever persists in it sincerely and with belief will not be humiliated, nor defeated, nor exposed, nor disgraced by the power, strength, and generosity of God.

A chapter on the mention of a group whose distress was relieved by the recitation of this noble litany. It has been narrated on the authority of our esteemed Sheikh, Imam Muhammad al-Safiri, may God sanctify his secret and soul, that he used to regularly recite this litany. On one of his journeys with a caravan east of Aleppo, they were suddenly surrounded by the cavalry of highwaymen from all sides. He immediately began reciting the blessed litany, and the cavalry turned away from them, fleeing in another direction. They proceeded in safety, and God delivered them from their evil. Prince Shadid, the emir of the Hayyar tribe, made a vow that whenever he encountered Sheikh Abdu al-Qusayri in a place where he could kill him, he would do so.

It was God's will that Sheikh Abdu left Ma'arrat al-Nu'man to return to his family, and Prince Shadid, with horsemen from his tribe, surrounded him. He immediately began reciting the aforementioned litany. When they reached him, the prince said, "O Sheikh! By God, my suspicion and certainty were contrary to what you see. Give me your hand." He gave him his hand, and the prince kissed it, saying, "Go forth, guided and rightly directed." After the sheikh left, the prince's group asked him about the reason, and he said: By God, I do not know the reason for that except that I saw in him an attraction to his veneration.

The Hanafi Mufti in Medina, may the best prayers and peace be upon its inhabitant, Sayyid As'ad bin Sayyid Abu Bakr (known as al-Hilmi al-Iskaddari, originally from Qaysarani, residing and buried in Medina, the Sharif al-Abdali al-Husseini), had a close relationship with Sheikh Muhammad bin Sulayman al-Maghribi, and he had sincerity and veneration towards him. When he came from Mecca to Medina, he honored him and studied some sciences with him. He used to correspond with the students of Sheikh bin Sulayman in Mecca and befriend them. Because of that, something remained in the mind of Sharif Sa'd, the Emir of Mecca, and he harbored ill will towards Sayyid As'ad.

When the turn came for Iqbal ibn Sulayman and his companion, Sharif Barakat, and the matter fell back to Sharif Sa'd, he threatened and intimidated Sayyid Sa'd, so he considered fleeing to the Byzantines or the Levant. At that time, there was in Medina a man of great virtue and piety from the Maghreb, Sharif Muhammad al-Hasani. This Maghrebi Sharif was a follower of the Ahmadi Sufi order and had a deep affection for Sayyid As'ad. Seeing his distress, he asked him about his situation, and he told him the story. He said to him: If you truly believe what I want to tell you, then make your journey to Mecca and do not fear your adversary. Sayyid As'ad replied: Tell me, and you will find me believing as you wish, God willing. So he showed him this litany and taught it to him, explaining its conditions and granting him permission.

He diligently recited it and experienced a profound spiritual state, a state of elevated spirituality. He realized this was due to the influence of the blessed litany. He then traveled with the caravan to Mecca and became a cherished guest in the house of Sheikh Muhammad, son of the venerable Sheikh Abdul Aziz, son of Sheikh Jamal al-Din Muhammad, son of Abdul Aziz al-Zamzami. Sheikh al-Zamzami feared for himself and Sheikh As'ad from the wrath of Sharif Sa'd, and was too shy to mention the matter to Sayyid As'ad. Every day, Sayyid As'ad would go down to the Sacred Mosque, wandering among the places of pilgrimage, speaking and gesticulating, all while Sharif Sa'd heard of it, yet he was unable to utter a single word about it. This continued for several days.

Then, one day, while the Sharif was at home, Sayyid As'ad entered the Sacred Mosque and saw him. He ordered him to be brought before him, and his supporters feared for his safety. When he arrived, the Sharif greeted him warmly and said, "I have pardoned you, O Mufti, for I know you are innocent of any enmity towards me." Sayyid As'ad replied, "My master! Far be it from me to be your enemy, and I continue to pray for your well-being." The Sharif then approached him, and God protected him from him. Sheikh Zamzami was astonished by this situation, by Sayyid As'ad's boldness in coming to Mecca despite knowing the Sharif's enmity towards him and the Sharif's audacity in insulting him.

He mentioned to him the matter that had pleased him, and Sayyid As'ad said, "Yes, it is as you say, but there is a reason for my boldness." He then told him the story of the litany, and the Sheikh received it from him and granted him permission to transmit it. From Sayyid As'ad, Sheikh Muhammad Aqila al-Makki and a group of others also received it, and all of them benefited from it. Sheikh Muhammad Aqila related great blessings from it and said, "Whoever recites it every day or night, or carries it with him, will be saved, by God's permission, from the cunning of every schemer and the treachery of every traitor." Among those who received this litany from Sayyid As'ad was also Imam Ali al-Tabari, the renowned preacher of Mecca, and most people received it from him.

He said in his series: I took the litany (The Hidden Secret and the Concealed Pearl), which is the litany known as (The Decisive Sword), and I wore the blessed Ahmadiyya cloak, and I took the Rifa'i order from Sharif Muhammad al-Hasani al-Maghribi al-Fasi, who was mentioned previously, and he took all of that from Sharif al-Tayyib, from Sharif al-Tihami, from Sharif Muhammad, from his father Sharif Abdullah, from Sidi Ali ibn Ahmad al-Ansari, from Isa ibn Ahmad, from Sidi Muhammad al-Talib, from Sidi Abdullah al-Ghazwani, from Sidi Abdul Aziz, from Sidi Muhammad ibn Sulayman al-Jazuli, the author of Dalail al-Khayrat, from Sidi Abdullah al-Sharif, from Sidi Abu Saeed al-Nahtani al-Maghribi, from Sidi Abdul Rahman al-Rajraji, from My master Abu Faraj al-Sharif Ahmad al-Badawi, on the authority of my master al-Sharif Abu Saeed al-Aqrafi, on the authority of my master Jaafar ibn Sayyid Buna al-Khuza’i, on the authority of the Sheikh of Sheikhs, the Pole of Poles, the Great Sharif, the Unique and Comprehensive Helper, Sayyid Ahmad Muhyi al-Din al-Rifa’i al-Husseini, may God be pleased with him and with them all.

And our master Sayyid Ahmad al-Rifa’i, may God be pleased with him, said: I received the litany (the Decisive Sword) from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, letter by letter, word by word. Our Sheikh, Sayyid Talib Abu Bakr al-Sayyadi from the family of Khuzam, may God sanctify his secret, informed me that if this litany is recited according to its conditions with sincere intention in a house, no thief or snake will enter it, and no harm will befall it. And if it is recited over sheep, no wolf will be able to take any of them without a shepherd. He said: If it is recited over water seven times and the possessed person is rubbed with it, he will recover by God’s permission. And if it is recited in a caravan, God Almighty will protect it from highway robbers.

Our esteemed Sheikh Hussein al-Zayyat al-Azhari al-Hanafi, may God sanctify his secret, told us that Sheikh Muhammad al-Jawhari al-Qusayri al-Abbasi feared Ibn Rustam, so he diligently recited this litany for several days. One night, he saw in his dream the author of the litany, our master Ahmad al-Rifa'i, may God be pleased with him, who said to him: "O Muhammad! Stretch out your legs, may God protect you from Ibn Rustam." He awoke to a commotion and was told: "Ibn Rustam has died suddenly." He prostrated in awe of God's majesty and in gratitude. Our Sheikh al-Zayyat also said: Our friend Sheikh Abd al-Salam ibn al-Hariri was indebted to Ibn Kujak Ali Agha, who had made his life difficult. Fearing scandal, he confided in some spiritually enlightened people, who instructed him to diligently recite this litany.

He did so according to its conditions, and no more than a week passed before the creditor saw the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, who said to him: "You are wealthy, and this one (meaning the debtor) is poor. Be patient with him for my sake." He awoke, gathered the amount of the debt into a bundle, and went to Sheikh Abdul Salam, saying to him, “You are absolved of the debt, and this is a gift from me to you. I ask for your prayers.” The Sheikh replied, “I will not accept unless you tell me the reason,” and he persisted. So he said, “I saw the Chosen One, peace and blessings be upon him,” and told him the full details of the vision, as previously mentioned. After that, he became even more devoted to reciting it, and God spared him the evil of poverty and facilitated his means.

He used to narrate, with his chain of transmission, the aforementioned litany from the noble and venerable Sheikh, Sayyid Ali al-Halqi al-Rifa’i al-Hawrani, that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, taught this noble litany to Sayyid Ahmad al-Rifa’i, may God be pleased with him, word for word, and he, may God be pleased with him, informed his companions of this, may God sanctify their souls.

Sheikh al-Islam Muhammad al-Alami, may God be pleased with him, said in his book, “I have known our sheikhs from the Ahmadiyya order to use the ‘Decisive Sword’ as they see fit, for it is a divine weapon without equal.” He also said, “It is a litany recited with the intention of fulfilling every need and for every purpose, and there is no doubt that its reciter will receive acceptance, by God’s permission.” The supplication or litany is known to have no condition except what the Quran and our Prophet, the master of the universe, may the blessings of the Most Merciful be upon him, have commanded. This is by way of obligation. Otherwise, the inspiration of the saints, may God be pleased with them, resulting from a sincere state and a pure secret, does not contradict any ruling of the noble Sharia and the clear Sunnah.

Therefore, acting upon it is commanded, as evidenced by the Almighty's saying, "And follow the path of those who turn to Him in repentance." Thus, it is a rule for reciting this blessed litany that the reciter be pure in clothing, body, and place, pure in heart, of good intention and belief, and strong in resolve. He should pray two voluntary rak'ahs to God Almighty in a secluded place, then sit facing the qiblah, and send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) one hundred times, and seek forgiveness from God Almighty eleven times, and remember God by saying: "There is no god but God" one hundred times.

Then he should recite the Fatihah for the soul of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his fellow prophets and messengers, and another Fatihah for the family, companions, noble saints, and the men of the time, then another Fatihah for the soul of the great saint of God, Sayyid Ahmad al-Kabir al-Rifa'i (may God be pleased with him), and his forefathers, ancestors, sheikhs, and all Muslims. Then he should say: "In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Rely upon the Ever-Living, the One who does not die, and glorify Him with praise, for He is sufficient as Knower of the sins of His servants." Eleven times, beginning with the recitation of the litany.

Upon completion, one should seek forgiveness three times, send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) three times, and recite Surah Al-Fatihah in the same manner three times, then depart. If one recites it for a specific need, one must observe a three-day fast and recite it forty-one times each day: six times after the Fajr prayer, five times after the Dhuhr prayer, ten times after the Asr prayer, ten times after the Maghrib prayer, and ten times after the Isha prayer. One should then sleep in a state of ritual purity, and Allah will fulfill one's need as soon as possible. In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. All praise is due to God, Lord of the worlds, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, Master of the Day of Judgment. You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help.

Guide us to the straight path, the path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray. Amen. All praise is due to God, who created the heavens and the earth and made darkness and light. Then those who disbelieved They ascribe equals to their Lord. So they plotted against him, but We made them the lowest. And We saved him from distress. And thus do We save the believers. Thus We averted from him evil and immorality. Indeed, he was one of Our chosen servants. So Allah protected him from the evil of what they plotted. They will not attain it. He has grasped the most trustworthy handhold, which will never break. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing. And We will say to him Our command is easy.

Our enemies will not reach us directly or indirectly; they have no power to harm us in any way. (1) And We will approach what they have done of deeds and make them as dust dispersed. And that is the recompense of the wrongdoers. Then We will save Our messengers and those who believed. Thus it is incumbent upon Us to save the believers. For him are successive angels before and behind him who protect him by the command of Allah. And indeed, We are his guardians. Indeed, he is a man of good fortune. Great! And indeed, he has a near standing with Us and a good abode. Our enemies will not reach us directly or indirectly; they have no power to harm us in any way. (2) So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment, and all their means of support were cut off. A defeated army of the confederates was sent forth.

And We made for him a light by which he walks among the people. So when they saw him, they were amazed at his greatness and cut their hands, saying, “God forbid! This is not a human being; this is none but a noble angel.” They said, “By God, God has indeed preferred you over us. Indeed, God has chosen him.” Upon you, and He increased him in knowledge and stature. And Allah gives His kingdom to whom He wills. Grateful for His favors, He chose him and guided him to a straight path. And Allah gave him dominion. And We raised him to a high station. And We brought him near in private conversation. And he was pleasing to his Lord. And peace be upon him the day he was born and the day he dies and the day he is raised alive. Our enemies will not reach us directly or indirectly; they have no power to inflict harm upon us in any way.

Number (3) And if they intend to deceive you, then sufficient for you is Allah. It is He who supported you with His victory and with the believers. And He united their hearts. If you had spent all that is in the earth, you could not have united their hearts, but Allah united them. Indeed, He is Exalted in Might and Wise. They are the enemy, so beware of them. May Allah destroy them. Every time they kindle the fire of war, Allah extinguishes it. And humiliation is imposed upon them. And they will be afflicted with wrath and will incur the wrath of God. They will be overtaken by the wrath of their Lord and humiliation in this worldly life. And when God intends evil for a people, there is no repelling it. Their eyes will be downcast, overwhelmed by humiliation.

If We had sent down this Qur’an upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbled and split apart from fear of God. So do not grieve over what they used to do. You will be distressed by their plots. If We take you away, We will surely exact retribution from them. Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers. Peace be upon you from the companions of the right. Go forth and do not fear; indeed, you are among the secure. Do not fear; you have escaped from the wrongdoing people. Do not fear being overtaken, nor be afraid. Do not fear; indeed, the messengers do not fear in My presence. Do not fear, nor be afraid. Do not grieve. Do not fear, for I am with you both, hearing and seeing. Do not fear, for you are the superior one. Then the one between whom and you there was enmity will become as though he was a devoted friend.

When he puts out his hand, he can hardly see it. And Allah has led him astray knowingly and has sealed his hearing and his heart and placed a veil over his sight so that he may taste the evil consequences of his actions. But the evil plot does not encompass except its own people. And all voices will be hushed before the Most Merciful. They will not harm you in the least. Indeed, We will cast upon you a weighty word. So be patient for the judgment of your Lord. And had We not strengthened you, you would have almost inclined to them a little. So turn away from them and rely upon Allah. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs. Is not Allah sufficient for His servant? And who is more truthful than Allah in statement?

And Allah will grant you a mighty victory. (Our enemies will not reach us directly or indirectly; they have no power to inflict harm upon us in any way. Number (4)) They are cursed wherever they are found; they will be seized and killed utterly. And Allah is stronger in might and more severe in punishment. And that is the recompense of the wrongdoers. Indeed, you are today with Us established and trustworthy. And We have raised high your mention. And I bestowed upon you love from Me. Indeed, I have chosen you above the people with My messages and My words. Indeed, I will make you a leader for the people. Indeed, We have granted you a clear victory. Our enemies will not reach us directly or indirectly; they have no power to harm us in any way. (5) (God has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing, and over their eyes is a veil.

God has taken away their light and left them in darkness, unable to see. They are deaf, dumb, and blind, so they will not return. They are suppressed as those before them were suppressed, and We have covered them, so they do not see. Indeed, We have placed shackles on their necks, and they are To their chins, so they are with heads raised high. And We have certainly given you seven of the oft-repeated verses and the Grand Qur'an. Those are the ones upon whose hearts, hearing, and vision Allah has set a seal, and those are the heedless. And who is more unjust than one who is reminded of the verses of his Lord and then turns away from them? Indeed, We will exact retribution from the criminals. Indeed, We have placed coverings over their hearts, lest they understand it. And in the Their ears are deaf.

And when you mention your Lord alone in the Qur'an, they turn away in aversion. And if you call them to guidance, they will never be guided. Have you seen the one who takes his own desires as his god, and Allah has led him astray knowingly, and sealed his hearing and his heart and placed a veil over his sight? Upon them is a circle of evil, and Allah has become angry with them, so they are no longer seen. Except for their dwellings. God destroyed them. Then many of them became blind and deaf. And God turned them back because of what they had earned. And that is the recompense of the wrongdoers. And whoever fears God - He will make for him a way out and will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon God - then He is sufficient for him. So when you recite the Qur’an, seek refuge with God from Satan, the accursed.

And say My Lord, cause me to enter a sound entrance and cause me to exit a sound exit and grant me from Yourself a supporting authority. Say, “Indeed, my Lord has guided me to a straight path. Indeed, my Lord is with me; He will guide me. Perhaps my Lord will guide me to the right way. Indeed, my protector is Allah, who has revealed the Scripture, and He protects the righteous. My Lord, You have given me authority and taught me from Yourself The interpretation of the hadiths: Creator of the heavens and the earth, You are my protector in this world and the Hereafter. Cause me to die as a Muslim and join me with the righteous. Is one who was dead and We gave him life and made for him a light by which to walk among the people like one who is dead?

And their prophet said to them, “Indeed, a sign of his kingship is that the chest will come to you in which is reassurance from your Lord and a remnant.” They said, “Our Lord, pour upon us patience and make firm.” Our feet, and grant us victory over the disbelieving people, to whom people said, “Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them.” But it [only] increased them in faith, and they said, “Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs.” So they returned with favor from Allah and bounty, no harm having touched them. Say, “Is it other than Allah I should take as a protector, Creator of the heavens and the earth? Indeed, He has always been gracious to me and has made me blessed wherever I am.” My success is only through God; upon Him I rely, and to Him I turn in repentance.

Our enemies will not reach us, neither directly nor indirectly. They have no power to harm us in any way. (6) They are deaf, dumb, and blind, so they do not understand. They are deaf and dumb in darkness, putting their fingers in their ears against the thunderclaps, fearing death. If only you could see when they are terrified, and there will be no escape. That is the recompense of the wrongdoers. Your only protectors are God, His Messenger, and those who believe. And whatever blessing you have is from God. And He is the Supreme Ruler. He will send guardians over you. O you who have believed, fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you and let them find harshness in you. And fight them until there is no more persecution. And on that day the believers will rejoice in the victory of Allah. He gives victory to whom He wills.

Allah will keep firm those who believe, with the firm word, in worldly life and in the Hereafter. So a wall will be placed between them. It has a gate; its interior contains mercy, and its exterior, towards it, is punishment. And Allah encompasses them from behind. Rather, it is a glorious Qur'an. And Allah is most knowing of your enemies. And sufficient is Allah as a protector, and sufficient is Allah as a helper. So do not fear them. Hearts on that Day will tremble, their eyes downcast. They will be afflicted by what they have done. A calamity! And these people await but a single blast, as if they were propped-up pieces of wood. Do they not see that God, who created them, is greater than them in strength? Then you will remember what I am telling you, and I entrust my affair to God. Indeed, God is Seeing of [His] servants.

And if you are patient and fear God, their plot will not harm you at all. Then We gave you back the advantage over them. And We provided you with wealth and children and made you more numerous in manpower. And remember when you were few and oppressed in the land, fearing that people might snatch you away, but He sheltered you. O you who have believed, remember the favor of Allah upon you when a people determined to extend their hands against you, but He restrained their hands from you. O mankind, remember the favor of Allah upon you. Is there any creator other than God who provides for you from the heavens and the earth? There is no god but He. He said, “Perhaps your Lord will destroy your enemy. Perhaps God will restrain the might of those who disbelieve. They plotted, and God plotted, and God is the best of plotters.

And the plotting of those will come to nothing. For indeed, it is not the eyes that are blind, but it is the hearts which are in the breasts that are blind. The multitude will be defeated and will turn away.” The rear guard* So We seized them with the seizure of One Exalted in Might, Powerful.* God does not intend to place upon you any hardship, but He intends to purify you and complete His favor upon you.* That is a concession from your Lord and a mercy.* Now God has lightened your burden, for He knows that there is weakness in you.* God intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship.* Say, "Indeed, the guidance of God is the [only] guidance."* He will give you a double portion of His mercy, and He will grant you a light by which you may walk.

Our enemies will not reach us directly or indirectly; they have no power to harm us in any way. (7) And they will have no helpers. That is the recompense of the wrongdoers. The evil consequences will befall them. God has destroyed them. They will be among the most humiliated. They could not stand up, nor could they defend themselves. Indeed, God does not set right the work of the corrupters, and God does not guide the plot of the treacherous. So We aided those who believed against their enemy, and they became victorious. They will be manifest. Indeed, Allah defends those who believe. Their light will shine before them and on their right. Allah is their Guardian. Blessed are they and excellent is their final abode. They will be secure from the terror of that Day.

Those are the ones for whom there is security, and they are the rightly guided. Those are the ones whom Allah has guided, so follow their guidance. No soul knows what it will be like for the believers. We have hidden for them a delight for their eyes. Indeed, We have chosen them with a special quality: remembrance of the Hereafter. And indeed, they are, in Our sight, among the chosen and the best. And We have granted them a lofty reputation for truthfulness. And We have chosen them with full knowledge above all the worlds. And We have selected them and guided them to a straight path. And We have sheltered them on a high ground with a spring and a source of water. And indeed, Our soldiers are for them The victorious ones.

So they returned with favor from Allah and bounty, no harm having touched them, except the saying, "Peace, peace." And he returns to his family in joy. Our enemies will not reach us, neither directly nor indirectly. They have no power to harm us in any way. (And these people await but a single blast, for which there will be no respite. And We will disperse them in every direction. We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. So hold fast to that which has been revealed to you. Indeed, you are on a straight path. And if you are in doubt about that which We have revealed to you, then ask those who read the Scripture.) Before you, the truth has come to you from your Lord, so do not be among the doubters.

I swear by the positions of the stars, and indeed, it is a great oath, if you only knew. And indeed, it is guidance and mercy for the believers. It is He who has sent down to you the Book; in it are verses that are entirely clear. They are the foundation of the Book. These are the verses of God which We recite to you in truth. Then in what statement after God and His verses is there any truth? They believe, but God bears witness to that which He has revealed to you. He has revealed it with His knowledge, and the angels bear witness as well. And God is sufficient as a witness, and God is sufficient as a trustee, and God is sufficient as a helper. And God is ever, over all things, a Watcher.

Say, "If the sea were ink for [writing] the words of my Lord, the sea would be exhausted before the words of my Lord were exhausted, even if We brought the like of it as a supplement." Our enemies will not reach us, neither directly nor indirectly. They have no power to harm us in any way. (9) (Then they will know who is weaker in support and fewer in number. Then they will know who is worse in position and weaker in forces. And We have appointed for their destruction a time. Then you will never succeed. And throw what is in your right hand; it will swallow up what they have crafted. What they have crafted is only the trick of a magician, and the magician will not succeed wherever he goes.

You would think they are united, but their hearts are divided.) Indeed, those who are engaged in such things will be destroyed, and what they used to do will be in vain. And there the wrongdoers will be the losers. Or do you think that most of them hear or understand? They are but like cattle. Nay, They are further astray from the path. Thus does God seal the hearts of those who do not know. Our enemies will not reach us directly or indirectly; they have no power to harm us in any way. (10) And the word has been fulfilled against them because of their wrongdoing, so they cannot speak. And Allah has turned them back because of what they earned. He is the One who supported you with His victory and with the believers.

We said, "O fire, be coolness and safety upon Abraham." (And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the greatest losers.) (3) Indeed, my Lord is on a straight path. And Allah is encompassing them from behind. Rather, it is a glorious Qur’an, *inscribed in a Preserved Tablet. And may God bless our master Muhammad, the unlettered Prophet, and his family and companions, and grant them abundant peace until the Day of Judgment. And praise be to God, Lord of the worlds.

The noble party, the magnificent shield, the unique jewel, the great treasury, the decisive sword, the rising star, and the shining necklace, whose efficacy and the responsiveness of the supplicant who invokes it are unanimously agreed upon by the gnostics, and how many distressed and grieving souls has God relieved through it, and how many fearful people has He aided through it, those whom fate has cast down into the hands of the oppressors, and how many people of profound understanding have attained their desires through it. It is indeed a radiant light, a dawn that breaks at morning, through whose blessing God guides to the path of righteousness, and through the secret of its recitation He opens the doors of means. Truly, it is the protected secret and the hidden pearl.

And I, praise be to God, have received permission to recite it according to its conditions, which I have previously stated, from our Sheikh, the Imam, Sayyid Talib Abu Bakr, son of the eminent scholar, the pole, Sayyid Hussein Burhan al-Din ibn Khuzam al-Sayyadi al-Rifa'i, who received it from his father with his general permission, and from his cousin, Sayyid Hijazi al-Sayyadi, the Naqib of Aleppo, with his specific permission.

And Sayyid Hijazi received it from his cousin, Sayyid Abu Bakr al-Kafartabi al-Sayyadi, who received it from His father, Sayyid Omar, on the authority of his father, Sayyid Abdul-Sami, on the authority of his father, Sayyid Shams al-Din Muhammad, on the authority of his father, Sayyid Sadr al-Din Ali, on the authority of the noble Sayyid, the Pole of Poles, Izz al-Din Ahmad al-Sayyad ibn al-Rifa’i, may God be pleased with him, on the authority of his brother, Sayyid Abdul-Muhsin Abu al-Hasan, on the authority of his grandfather, the author of the litany, the Pole of Men, the Sultan of Saints, the Flag of the East, the Leader of the People of Truth, the Helper of Existence, Sayyid Muhyi al-Din Abu al-Abbas al-Rifa’i the Great, al-Husseini al-Hasani al-Ansari, may the pleasure of the Creator be upon him.

And I have granted, out of love for my Muslim brothers, and in devotion to the pure and trustworthy Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, a general authorization to all who receive this blessed litany from among our brothers of faith, by reading it according to its rules that we have established, and its blessed conditions that we have mentioned. May God make the blessings of this general authorization general with goodness and complete. And praise be to God Almighty, first and last, inwardly and outwardly. And there is no power nor strength except with God, the Most High, the Magnificent. And may God bless our master Muhammad and his family and all his companions. It is written for the bearer by a sheikh of pure body and with sincere intention, and it is fumigated and perfumed and placed in a silver house.
